Biography

Dr. Sueda Saylan received her Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University in 2002 and her Master's degree in Microelectronic Manufacturing Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2004. She earned her Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Engineering from the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, which later merged into Khalifa University of Science and Technology in 2017. After completing her Ph.D. in 2016, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Electrical Engineering Department at Khalifa University for about six years. During her academic journey, she also served as a visiting researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2014 and at the University of Tokyo in 2016. From 2022 to 2024, she held an MSCA postdoctoral fellowship at Bilkent University. In 2024, she joined the Faculty of Engineering at Özyeğin University as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Saylan’s research interests encompass memristive devices, photovoltaics, and light-matter interactions at the micro/nanoscale.
