İklil Selçuk received her B.Sc. in Economics from Middle East Technical University in 1994, and her M.A. in History from Bilkent University in 1997. She continued her graduate studies at McGill University between 1997 and 2000. She received her Ph.D. in History and Middle Eastern Studies from Harvard University in 2009.

Dr. Selçuk joined Bahçeşehir University’s Department of Economics following her graduation, where she taught various courses in Economic History, History of Business and Finance, and History of Civilizations. She continues her studies on Ottoman Economic History, and the history of crafts and towns.
