Dr. İdil Erdemir Kocagil graduated from Lycée de Galatasaray in 2007. She then pursued her undergraduate studies in architecture at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), culminating in her graduation with high honors. Her academic pursuits continued with an MSc degree in Environmental Control and Construction Technologies from ITU. In 2022, she earned her Ph.D. in Construction Sciences from ITU, specializing in the development of a parametric model for the effective design of energy-efficient and daylight-responsive residential settlements. Between 2014-2021, Dr. Kocagil actively contributed to academic life as a research assistant at ITU's Department of Architecture. Her roles encompassed teaching and participation in various research projects. She further extended her dedication to teaching by leading architectural design studios at Marmara University and Okan University. Dr. Kocagil's research endeavors are concentrated in the domains of performance-based parametric design, energy-efficient design, urban form-building interaction, and daylighting in architecture.
