Dr. Celia Naivar Şen completed her BS in Psychology and BA in Plan II at the University of Texas at Austin in 2003, her Master of Public Health at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in 2008, and her PhD in Social Psychology at Koç University in 2015.  She joined the faculty of the School of Arts and Sciences at Özyeğin University in September 2018.

Merging social psychology and public health, Dr. Naivar Şen’s research focuses on understanding health behavior change using a mix of personality attributes, individual differences, and demographics within theoretical frameworks.  Under the umbrella of health behavior change, Dr. Naivar Şen’s research topics include behaviors ranging from cancer screenings in various cultures to organ donation registration and hand hygiene.
