Aras Türay started his undergraduate program at Istanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Law in 2008. In 2012, he graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Law and in the same year, he started the Human Rights Law Master Program at Istanbul Bilgi University. In 2015, he completed his master's degree with his thesis titled "Incitement the Public to Hatred and Hostility with The Dimensions of International Law and Hate Speech". In 2015, he started the Public Law Doctorate Program at Istanbul Bilgi University and in 2022, he received his doctorate in law with his thesis titled "Crimes of Infringement of Moral, Financial and Related Rights in The Law No. 5846 On Intellectual and Artistic Works (FSEK Art. 71)". 
He worked as a (contracted) teaching assistant at Istanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Law, Department of Criminal and Criminal Procedure between 2012-2014 and as a research assistant between 2015-2022. In 2022-2023, he worked as a lecturer at Istanbul Gedik University Faculty of Law, Department of Criminal and Criminal Procedure. In 2023, he was appointed as a faculty member at Ozyegin University Faculty of Law, Department of Criminal and Criminal Procedure. 
His research focuses on criminal law, criminal procedure law, human rights law, hate crimes and speech, violence against women, mass communication law, intellectual property law.
