Başak Onbaşıoğlu, Student in the Department of Industrial Design at Özyeğin University, Is Selected For the WDO Young Designers Circle

Başak Onbaşıoğlu, a 4th-grade student in the Department of Industrial Design from Özyeğin University, was selected for the WDO Young Designers Circle for the 2023-2025 period of WDO (World Design Organization). In the past years, our students Nilay Zambak and Hazal Doğa Kılıçkap and our part-time lecturer Gizem Severoğlu were among the young designers selected.

Founded in London during a meeting in 1957 and formerly known as ICSID (International Council of Societies of Industrial Designers), WDO is a non-profit umbrella organization that promotes industrial design worldwide. It is currently based in Montréal. Established in 2020, WDO’s Young Designers Circle Programme harnesses the creativity and ambition of the next generation of design leaders and educators across multiple disciplines and regions. The program is aligned with WDO’s mission to design for a better world and its objectives to promote the use of design to help meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). This initiative aims to strengthen the role of design leadership today by planting seeds that will lead to a significant impact tomorrow.
