Dr. Murat Şahin obtained his B.Sc. from Yıldız University, Department of Architecture in 1987, M.A. in Architectural Design from Yıldız Technical University in 1990, and Ph.D. in Architectural Design from the same university in 1997. Dr. Şahin served as a visiting scholar at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture in the academic year of 1999-2000. During his stay in New York between the years of 1999 and 2003, he also worked as a design associate in a series of architectural projects. Between 2003 and 2012, Dr. Şahin taught at Yeditepe University, Bahçeşehir University, and Yıldız Technical University. Besides teaching, Dr. Şahin has been practicing for over 20 years. His research interests and architectural studies include integrated design, architecture education, regional/ vernacular architecture, architectural representation, urban design, and children and architecture.
