Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between Özyeğin University and Xi’an Jiaotong University

Özyeğin University and Xi’an Jiaotong University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance academic collaboration between the two institutions. Signed by the Presidents of both universities, the MoU encompasses a comprehensive range of scientific and academic collaborations, including student and staff exchange programs, joint research initiatives, co-supervision of doctoral students, and scholarship opportunities for qualified students. Xi’an Jiaotong University has invited Özyeğin University to join the University Alliance of the Silk Road. The meeting also emphasized the significant growth in bilateral trade volume in recent years, underscoring the potential for both universities to foster sector-specific collaborations with Chinese and Turkish companies and explore multi-faceted strategic partnerships.

The Xi’an Jiaotong University delegation was led by Prof. Zhang Liqun (President), comprised Mr. Li Xiaoyue (Director of the President’s Office), Prof. Tian Mei (Vice Dean, School of International Education), Prof. Liu Wenfeng (Director, Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges), and Ms. Liu Yiying (Officer for European Affairs). On behalf of Özyeğin University, our President Prof. Barış Tan, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Impact Prof. M. İrşadi Aksun, Vice President for Academic Affairs Prof. Tanju Erdem, Institutional and Global Partnerships Director Nida Bektaş, Asst. Prof. Xiaohan (Hannah) Wen from the Faculty of Business, and International Exchange Programs Manager Zeynep Siper Özyurt attended the ceremony.

This collaboration aims to pave the way for joint academic and scientific endeavors, ultimately enhancing both universities’ international engagement.
