Abstract:

The workplace environment is evolving due to technological advancements and a focus on sustainability in urban building projects. Maintaining optimal thermal comfort while prioritizing energy efficiency poses challenges. A study in a green-certified building in Istanbul assesses indoor environmental quality, focusing on thermal comfort. Methods include surveys, interviews, literature reviews, and case studies to understand occupant satisfaction and needs. Participants highlighted indoor temperature, air quality, and energy efficiency as key concerns. Insights from the study aim to inform architects, engineers, and policymakers about improving energy consumption and sustainable design practices in office environments.

Bio:

Muhsin Lütfi is an accomplished architect who graduated with honours from Özyeğin University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture in 2022. He is currently pursuing his graduate studies in the Architecture Program at Özyeğin University, with a research focus on indoor environmental quality in architectural projects.
