Özyeğin University Once Again Makes It to the Top 10 Universities in TÜBİTAK’s Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index!

The results of the “Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index” have been announced. Conducted for the first time in Turkey in 2012 by TÜBİTAK, the “Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index” is intended to propel universities forward in their innovative and entrepreneurial activities, and measure their performance in these areas.

Driven by the vision of being an entrepreneurial research university since the day it was founded, Özyeğin University ranked ninth among the top 50 most entrepreneurial and innovative universities in Turkey according to the results of the “Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index”.

This year, the index included 192 universities with more than 50 faculty members. The universities were ranked across 23 indicators in 4 main categories: “scientific and technological research competence”, “intellectual property pool”, “cooperation and interaction”, “economic contribution and commercialization”. Özyeğin University scored 63.18 points across these four categories, and made it to the top 10 universities.

Meanwhile, Özyeğin University was ranked first in “Intellectual Property Pool” in recognition of its national-international patent and utility model portfolio, and commercialization achievements. Özyeğin University also came in second in “Amount of Funding from International Projects”, and fifth in “Number of companies with students/alumni as shareholders”. The importance attached to student-faculty entrepreneurship and university-industry cooperation has also played an important role in Özyeğin University’s achievement.
