Would you like to spend two weeks in a beautiful Central European city with a Mediterranean atmosphere, learning about European history and culture for academic credit?

Come join our European Studies Summer School from July 9 – 22, 2023!

Preliminary Program

During the summer school, you'll study the political, economic, cultural, and social achievements and challenges of the European Union, as well as expand your knowledge on topics such as the art history, gastronomy, and folk traditions of Europe. You can learn together with students from many different countries for two weeks and broaden your perspectives about the contributing factors that led to contemporary Europe, including migration, cultural diversity, and gender issues. The classes will be taught by internationally renowned professors.  

Language of instruction: English 

Who can apply: The program is open to undergraduate, graduate, and PhD students

 Credits offered: 6 ECTS credits

 Program fee:  1050 EUR

 Program fee includes:

·       cost of instruction

·       accommodation in a dormitory

·       lunch on teaching days

·       dinner when evening programs are organized

·       sightseeing, and museum visits

One of the highlights of summer school is the opportunity to make international friendships! Over the course of the program, we organize a number of social events where you can better get to know your fellow participants, including an Intercultural Evening, Quiz Night, a wine-tasting program, pairing wine with traditional Hungarian meals, and various team-building sessions. You will also be able to experience Hungarian folk traditions by learning some of Hungary's folk dances! The region around Pécs is also famous for its thermal baths and lakes. During the program, you can visit the beautiful Siklós Spa and go kayaking on Lake Orfű.
